Occupational therapy student experiences of a university mental health course based on an integrated application of problem-based and team-based learning
Background: The goal of problem-based and team-based learning (PBL/TBL) is to maximize student engagement and encourage interactive learning. Combining these methods in course design is described as a win-win situation that optimizes student learning, professional development, and uses varied teaching approaches that fit well within health science. More research is needed in the effectiveness of s
The BRCA1 c. 5096G>A p.Arg1699Gln (R1699Q) intermediate risk variant : Breast and ovarian cancer risk estimation and recommendations for clinical management from the ENIGMA consortium
Background We previously showed that the BRCA1 variant c.5096G>A p.Arg1699Gln (R1699Q) was associated with an intermediate risk of breast cancer (BC) and ovarian cancer (OC). This study aimed to assess these cancer risks for R1699Q carriers in a larger cohort, including follow-up of previously studied families, to further define cancer risks and to propose adjusted clinical management of female BR

Hedgerows Have a Barrier Effect and Channel Pollinator Movement in the Agricultural Landscape
Agricultural intensification and the subsequent fragmentation of semi-natural habitats severely restrict pollinator and pollen movement threatening both pollinator and plant species. Linear landscape elements such as hedgerows are planted for agricultural and conservation purposes to increase the resource availability and habitat connectivity supporting populations of beneficial organisms such as Agricultural intensification and the subsequent fragmentation of semi-natural habitats severely restrict pollinator and pollen movement threatening both pollinator and plant species. Differential expression of CK20, β-catenin, and MUC2/5AC/6 in Lynch syndrome and familial colorectal cancer type X
Background: Hereditary non-polyposis colorectal cancer comprises Lynch syndrome and familial colorectal cancer type X (FCCTX). Differences in genetics, demographics and histopathology have been extensively studied. The purpose of this study is to characterize their immunoprofile of markers other than MMR proteins. Methods: We compared the expression patterns of cytokeratins (CK7 and CK20), mucins
Enhancing crop shelf life with pollination
Background: Globally, high amounts of food are wasted due to insufficient quality and decay. Although pollination has been shown to increase crop quality, a possible impact on shelf life has not been quantitatively studied. Results: We tested how shelf life, represented by fruit decay, firmness and weight, changes as a function of pollination limitation in two European, commercially important stra
Prognostic factors for change in self-reported anxiety and depression in spondyloarthritis patients : data from the population-based SpAScania cohort from southern Sweden
Objectives: Anxiety and depression symptoms are more common in patients with spondyloarthritis (SpA) than in the general population. This study describes prognostic factors for change in self-reported anxiety and depression over 2 years in a well-defined SpA cohort. Method: In 2009, 3716 adult patients from the SpAScania cohort received a postal questionnaire to assess quality of life (QoL) and ph
Coffee drinking and mortality in 10 European countries : A multinational cohort study
Background: The relationship between coffee consumption and mortality in diverse European populations with variable coffee preparation methods is unclear. Objective: To examine whether coffee consumption is associated with all-cause and cause-specific mortality. Design: Prospective cohort study. Setting: 10 European countries. Participants: 521 330 persons enrolled in EPIC (European Prospective In
Measurement of the inclusive jet cross-sections in proton-proton collisions at √s=8 TeV with the ATLAS detector
Inclusive jet production cross-sections are measured in proton-proton collisions at a centre-of-mass energy of s=8 TeV recorded by the ATLAS experiment at the Large Hadron Collider at CERN. The total integrated luminosity of the analysed data set amounts to 20.2 fb−1. Double-differential cross-sections are measured for jets defined by the anti-kt jet clustering algorithm with radius parameters of

Low-Frequency Noise in III-V Nanowire TFETs and MOSFETs
We present a detailed analysis of low-frequency noise (LFN) measurements in vertical III-V nanowire tunnel fieldeffect transistors (TFETs), which helps to understand the limiting factors of TFET operation. A comparison with LFN in vertical metal-oxide semiconductor field-effect transistors with the same channel material and gate oxide shows that the LFN in these TFETs is dominated by the gate oxid
InAs/InGaAsSb/GaSb Nanowire Tunnel Field-Effect Transistors
Tunnel field-effect transistors with ability to operate well below the thermal limit (with a demonstrated 43 mV/decade at VDS = 0.1 V) are characterized in this paper. Based on 88 devices, the impact of the low subthreshold swing on the overall performance is studied. Furthermore, correlation between parameters that are important for device characterization is determined.

High-energy breakfast based on whey protein reduces body weight, postprandial glycemia and HbA1C in Type 2 diabetes
Acute studies show that addition of whey protein at breakfast has a glucose-lowering effect through increased incretin and insulin secretion. However, whether this is a long-term effect in Type 2 diabetes is unknown. Fifty-six Type 2 diabetes participants aged 58.9±4.5 years, BMI 32.1±0.9 kg/m2 and HbA1C 7.8±0.1% (61.6±0.79 mmol/mol) were randomized to one of 3 isocaloric diets with similar lunch
Does next-generation sequencing of cyst fluid improve management of pancreatic cystic neoplasms?
Pancreatic cystic lesions represent a heterogeneous group of diseases ranging from benign to malignant lesions. They are increasingly being detected due to the widespread use of cross-sectional imaging. Their management is a challenge because it is often not possible to reliably discriminate between malignant and nonmalignant lesions using current imaging technology. Next-generation sequencing (NG
Quantification of l-carvone in toothpastes available on the Swedish market
Background: Toothpastes have widespread use in the population, and contain flavours to give a pleasant and often minty aroma. Flavours are prevalent allergens in toothpastes, and adverse reactions often present as perioral dermatitis or stomatitis. l-Carvone, a mint flavour found in spearmint oil, is one of these allergens. There are few studies on contact allergy to l-carvone, and some of them ha
Field data and simulations to estimate the role of standby energy use of lighting control systems in individual offices
This paper investigates the effectiveness of lighting control systems (LCSs) in 57 individual office rooms of an educational building located in Lund, Sweden. The study uses simulations based on actual occupancy data. The simulations, performed with Daysim via the Honeybee interface, focus on the portion of standby energy use on total lighting energy use considering different combinations of LCSs
