I am a Reader/Associate Professor in Arabic and a scholar of Semitic languages with focus on linguistics. My teaching experience includes Arabic grammar and text analysis at all levels as communicative skills. Ten years of international work in Oman, the United Arab Emirates and Syria, has also made me interested in development of international student and staff exchange.
I enjoy working with people and have a long experience of leadership and administration in both university and community life. I am also genuinely interested in didactics and course development.
My current research focus is on Arabic dialect syntax. Most of my research, both in dialectological studies and in other parts of Semitic studies, is corpus based and within the realm of typological syntactic studies.
