Josephson Junction π-0 Transition Induced by Orbital Hybridization in a Double Quantum Dot
In this Letter, we manipulate the phase shift of a Josephson junction using a parallel double quantum dot (QD). By employing a superconducting quantum interference device, we determine how orbital hybridization and detuning affect the current-phase relation in the Coulomb blockade regime. For weak hybridization between the QDs, we find π junction characteristics if at least one QD has an unpaired

Higher education institutions as a microcosm of the circular economy
Higher education institutions (HEIs) can play a key role in the transition to the circular economy (CE) given their missions, characteristics and role in shaping the coming generations of citizens and leaders. The aim of this paper is to provide a comprehensive examination of HEIs as microcosms for transitioning to circular models. Through a semi-systematic literature review, it focuses on the sys
Women Inventors: : On the Origins of the Gender Patenting Gap
The gender patenting gap is well-established and is wide. Despite important progress made over the past decades, the gap remains. Why are women underrepresented in patenting activities? What are the roots of the gender patenting gap? How did the gap evolve since the ‘modern’ patenting system was established? Our knowledge of women’s contribution to innovative activities in the past is extremely sc

”Henrik, du kunne vel ikke lige lukke vinduet?” : How to be polite in Denmark and Korea – a comparison
It is a well-known fact that when we in Korea find elaborate polite conjugations, that structure and determine everyday interaction, the Danes, on the other side of the Globe, have a habit of saying ‘you’ (‘du’) in almost every context. We are dealing with an Asian language ruled by a high level of honorific phrases and a Scandinavian language characterized by its more unpolished and straightforwa

Nature and digitalization challenging the traditional playground
Playing outdoors in nature with peers has been attributed most importance for children's healthy development but is increasingly marginalized because of the attractiveness of screen-based play. Careful merging of digital technology into outdoor play environments rich on nature elements could potentially help bridge digital play with more traditional play activities outdoors. A systematic compariso

Controlling Destiny : Julian Huxley's Post-Darwinian Evolutionism and the History of Transhumanism
The evolutionary biologist Julian Huxley (1887–1975) attempted to promote a “religion for the future,” which he would come to refer to as Transhumanism. It was Huxley’s firm belief that mankind needed a unifying system of thought that could motivate action and change. Transhumanism was also an attempt to unite a more traditional humanistic view of the human as containing some form of core essence The evolutionary biologist Julian Huxley (1887–1975) attempted to promote a “religion for the future,” which he would come to refer to as Transhumanism. I stället för en annan : Minnesplatser och vittnesretorik i Göran Rosenbergs Ett kort uppehåll på vägen från Auschwitz
In the Stead of Another: Memory Places and the Rhetoric of Witnessing in Göran Rosenberg’s A Brief Stop on the Road from Auschwitz (I stället för en annan. Minnesplatser och vittnesretorik i Göran Rosenbergs Ett kort uppehåll på vägen från Auschwitz)As the last witnesses of the Nazi genocide disappear, the question of who can speak in their stead about the horrors of the Holocaust surfaces with re
Segmental articulations across prosodic levels
This study deals with segmental articulations based on acceleration signals from EMA data. We test how well the one-to-one relationship between acceleration peaks and segment boundaries (as described within the framework of the Descriptive Approach to Segmental Articulations) works across different prosodic levels in Swedish, here: focused and unfocused position, with the assumption of a positive

Research protocol for mobile research labs on food sharing : Tracing costs, investments, challenges, drivers, and success factors to establish and maintain food sharing initiatives
Task 3.1 in Work Package (WP) 3 of the CULTIVATE project aims to investigate costs, investments, challenges, drivers, and success factors to establish and maintain urban and peri-urban food sharing initiatives (FSIs). This investigation builds on the conceptual framework, which has been developed from a systematic literature review on the topic of food sharing and enriched with topics from several
