Course
Course 15 credits • GREA01
This course is a beginner's course in Ancient and Byzantine Greek. You will acquire basic knowledge of this language, with a focus on morphology, syntax, and a central vocabulary.
Since Ancient Greek is no longer spoken, the emphasis in the course is on reading texts, based on the Attic Greek used by Sophocles, Plato, and Thucydides. The instruction includes lectures, translation, and discussion of the expressions and history of the Greek language. All teaching takes place during daytime on campus at the Centre for Languages and Literature in Lund.
