Migration and Ethnicity: Negotiated Identities
Teaching – autumn semester of 2021
The COVID-19 pandemic continues to affect our courses and programmes. Teaching and assessment during the first half of the autumn semester 2021 will be conducted both online and on campus. From 1 November more elements will be conducted on campus – the current schedule is available on course websites and/or in Canvas.
Description
Migration is and has been, a significant influence on European cultures and societies. This course acknowledges this from two main perspectives. On the one hand, how conditions of migration have been represented in film and television – in different national and historical contexts. On the other hand, how migration has affected film production itself, not least regarding how film workers have moved from one country to another, finding new arenas for exploring both their creativity and identity.
Course Structure
The course is given online and students need to access the online study platform Canvas regularly during the course. Seminars are being held through ZOOM throughout the course. The language of instruction is English.
