Book presentation: Alisa Zhulina's Theater of Capital: Modern Drama and Economic Life
Join us at the literary studies research seminar for a talk by Alisa Zhulina (New York University) on her recent monograph (Theater of Capital: Modern Drama and Economic Life, Northwestern University Press, 2024), in which she reads canonical European playwrights—e.g., Henrik Ibsen, August Strindberg, George Bernard Shaw, Anton Chekhov, and Gerhart Hauptmann—in relation to the economic thought of the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. The event is open to all; no registration required.
