Alfred Sjödin

I am a PhD candidate since the spring semester of 2009. I also teach literary history on the introductory level. My research concerns genres of natural description in the late eighteenth century. In general I am interested in the relation between poetry and history, particularly the social significance of poetical forms and genres and the related question of the dynamics of literary history, as well as the relation between poetics and poetic praxis. I also have a background in the History of science and ideas. The period 1750-1830 in Swedish literature is my special field of interest.
