My main area of expertise in Swedish eighteenth-century literature. In 2014 I publicly defended my dissertation on the Swedish poet Johan Gabriel Oxenstierna, and his poem Skördarne (1796), its uses of genres and its ideological significance. I have since then edited the poems of Oxenstierna in an annotated edition and published articles on other Swedish eighteenth-century poets.
One of the most fascinating aspects of eighteenth-century literature is its mixture of the old and the new, the classical and the modern. On a more general and theoretical level I am interested in related questions (classical reception, the survival of genres, periodization, anachronism). My new research project concerns these questions.
Together with two colleagues I organize the the Center for Languages and Literature's interdisciplinary seminar for Poetry (www.poesiseminariet.wordpress.com)
