Giving a presentation can be a nerve-wracking experience, even more so if it’s done in a foreign language. If you need to give presentations in English, then this course is for you. Through instruction and focused practice, you will gain tools and strategies for effective presentations in English. Topics will include presentation structure, tailoring your talk to specific audiences, working with voice and body language, and more.
This course will consist of a total of 8 meetings (one two-hour meeting each week) over eight weeks. There will also be additional tasks assigned between sessions.
Target group:
Lund University administrative and technical staff from all parts of the university who present in English as part of their work.
Workload:
Most of the work for this course will be done in the class sessions; however, you will be required to work on presentation assignments between sessions, if possible using materials that you are presenting in your work.
Implementation:
Please note that this course is free of charge for participants and their work units. It is expected that participants will have approval from their supervisor to take part in the course.
All courses will be taught by experienced lecturers from the English Unit at Lund University, who are affiliated with the Consortium for Academic and Professional English at the university (http://www.sol.lu.se/en/subjects/engelska/consortium-for-academic-and-professional-english/).
