English: General Proficiency Course in English for Administrative and Technical Staff

About this course:

Has it been some time since you last studied English? Perhaps you haven’t focused on English since secondary school. If you are feeling that the English you learned way back then is rusty, leaving you less comfortable using English on the job, then this course is for you. This course will consist of a total of 8 meetings (one two-hour meeting each week) over eight weeks, and is a general English course focused on topics of relevance to participants. You can expect to overview the grammar, pronunciation, and vocabulary you might have forgotten, and to read and discuss texts with your colleagues.

Target group:

Lund University administrative and technical staff from all parts of the university who would like an administration-relevant general English course.

Workload:

Most of the work for this course will be done in the class sessions; however, you will be asked to do small assignments between sessions in order to maximize your learning on the course.

Implementation:

Please note that this course is free of charge for participants and their work units. It is expected that participants will have approval from their supervisor to take part in the course. All courses will be taught by experienced lecturers from the English Unit at Lund University, who are affiliated with the Consortium for Academic and Professional English at the university (http://www.sol.lu.se/en/subjects/engelska/consortium-for-academic-and-professional-english/).
