English: Advanced Proficiency for Administrative and Technical Staff

About this course:

If your English is already quite good, but you would like to become even better and to use your English to a fuller extent, then this course is for you. This is a chance for you to read English texts (novels and short stories) and to engage in discussion with colleagues about literature. This is also a chance for you to delve into English grammar and vocabulary, with the aim of further deepening your knowledge of the English language.

This course consists of a total of 8 meetings (2h seminars), and is based on texts of different lengths. Readings and topics vary between sessions.

Target group:

Lund University administrative and technical staff from all parts of the university who would like a reading and discussion-based English course to enable them to maintain and advance their current level of English. The course is an excellent follow-up to the courses General Proficiency and Written Correspondence, but does not depend on these courses.

This course is based primarily on reading; in particular you will be required to read both novels and shorter texts over the period of the course, and may also be given other small assignments between sessions in order to deepen discussions in class.
