About this course:
Do you communicate with the outside world as part of your Lund University job? Then this is the course for you. In this course, you will focus on texts for the web, brochures, press releases, and similar genres. This course will give you tools and knowledge to more effectively present the university in English to an international audience. This course will consist of a total of 8 meetings (one two-hour meeting each week) over eight weeks, with additional tasks assigned between sessions.
Lund University administrative and technical staff from all parts of the university whose job involves writing to the public, for example via websites or press releases.
Most of the work for this course will be done in the class sessions; however you will be required to do small writing assignments between sessions, and to analyse the relevant texts that you have written or viewed on the job.
Please note that this course is free of charge for participants and their work units. It is expected that participants will have approval from their supervisor to take part in the course.
All courses will be taught by experienced lecturers from the English Unit at Lund University, who are affiliated with the Consortium for Academic and Professional English at the university (http://www.sol.lu.se/en/subjects/engelska/consortium-for-academic-and-professional-english/).
