Welcome to SOL!

The SOL building brings together several departments and units in the academic discipline of humanities. Here you can meet students and researchers from the Centre for Languages and Literature, the Department of Communication and Media and the Humanities Lab which is an interdisciplinary research technology and training facility. You can also find the following support units: The International Office, the Employment forum as well as the Student Union for Humanities and Theology (HTS).

SOL Opening hours

Monday-Friday: 7:30 am - 7:00 pm
Saturday: 10:00 am - 4:00 pm
Sunday: Closed

The entrances are open Monday to Friday 6:30 am -10:00 pm and Saturday 10:00 am - 4:00 pm for HT-students and Department of Communication and Media students holding a LU-card.

During Sundays and public holidays the entrances are either closed or subjected to flexible opening hours.

If you have an exam and the building is closed, the closest entrance is open, see https://www.sol.lu.se/en/education/student-resources/assessment-and-examination/exams/

The closest entrance is always open if there are any planned activities in the building.

Opening hours during summer

During summer just the following entrances are open: the entrances into the big foyer and into the big lecture hall.

June 14 : 7:30 am-4:00 pm

June 15-16: Closed

June 17–23

Monday–Thursday: 8:30 am –4:00 pm

June 21–23: Closed

June 24– August 11

Monday–Friday: 10:00 am –2:00 pm 

Saturday–Sunday: Closed

August 12–25

Monday–Friday: 7:30 am –5:00 pm 

Saturday–Sunday: Closed

August 26–September 1

Monday–Friday: 7:30 am –7:00 pm 

Saturday–Sunday: Closed

Ordinary opening hours from September 2.

HT-students and Department of Communication and Media students holding a LU-card have ordinary access during the summer. However, Sundays, holidays and June 21 the building is closed. The building is open when there are any planned acitivites. Use the ordinary doors.
