Programme Structure

Overview of semesters and courses

The exact structure and content of the programme depends on the admitted student's earlier skill and merits in an Eastern or Central European language. This applies in the following way:

  • For students admitted to the programme with documented prior skills in an East or Central European language equivalent to 60 credits at university level or who speak it as their mother tongue, a total of 45 credits are comprised of elective courses. This applies to 15 credits during the first semester and 30 credits during the third. (Read more below)

  • For students admitted to the programme with documented prior skills equivalent to 30 credits at university level in either Russian, Romanian, Modern Greek, Yiddish, Polish or Bosnian/Montenegrin/Serbian/Croatian, courses amounting to a total of 30 credits at continuation level in that language are compulsory. The 30 credits are divided into two segments: 15 credits during the first semester and 15 credits during the third. The remaining 15 credits on the third semester are elective for these students.
