Teaching – autumn semester of 2020

Due to the announcement from the Swedish Government issued May 29^th, that returning to campus-based education is possible from June 15^th, the following applies to teaching at the Joint Faculties of Humanities and Theology during the autumn semester:

Due to the ongoing corona (COVID-19) pandemic and the restrictions that have been issued, the courses taught this autumn will have a limited number of meetings on campus, depending on the availability of suitable lecture rooms. The major part of the teaching will take place online. Detailed information on what is the case for your course will be given below.
If the teaching is campus-based, there will be assigned entry and exit passages for each teaching room regarding stairwells, corridors and entrances (doorways). Please be considerate and follow the instructions to the point. Hand disinfectant will be available in all lecture halls and group rooms.

Please pay attention to the start time of your teaching. The stated time in your course schedule is valid.

Information

ÄSAD14 består av tre delkurser:

1. Textanalys och respons (7,5 hp)
Delkursen behandlar skolans texttyper utifrån andraspråkselevers produktion. Studenterna tränas i analys av elevtexter och formativ bedömning utifrån ett andraspråksperspektiv inom olika genrer. Ett viktigt inslag i kursen är att studenterna på ett mottagaranpassat sätt formulerar de pedagogiska texter som är relaterade till en skriftlig uppgift, såsom instruktioner, respons och bedömningsmotiveringar. Utgångspunkten för delkursen är det innehåll i grundskolans och gymnasieskolans kursplaner som rör skriftlig framställning.

2. Språkdidaktik (7,5 hp)
Delkursen fokuserar på undervisning i ungdoms- och vuxenutbildningen för elever som är nya i svenska språket. Delkursen tar upp olika sätt att organisera mottagning av nyanlända elever och kartläggning av andraspråkselevers tidigare kunskaper. Delkursen behandlar också vad som utmärker undervisning och lärande i flerspråkiga miljöer samt på ett andraspråk. En central del av delkursen är arbetssätt som utvecklar elevernas språkliga färdigheter.

3. Litteraturdidaktik i svenska som andraspråk (15 hp)
Delkursen behandlar ungdomars och vuxnas läsning och belyser hur skönlitteraturen kan användas för att främja språk- och kunskapsutveckling hos andraspråkselever. Kursen ger en fördjupning i berättande genrer i relation till andra texttyper med särskild fokus på ordinlärning och läsförståelseförmåga. Med hjälp av litteraturvetenskapliga begrepp och metodiska redskap analyseras berättande texters innehåll, svårighetsgrad och uppbyggnad. Kursen ger vidare en introduktion till det litteraturdidaktiska forskningsfältet från ett receptionsteoretiskt och interkulturellt perspektiv. Kursen visar på sätt av att använda skönlitterära texter, författade av såväl kvinnor som män från olika kulturer och tider, i arbete med frågor om flerspråkighet, identitet och kulturmöten. Med utgångspunkt i kurslitteratur och egna erfarenheter av undervisning utvecklar studenten sin förmåga att göra didaktiska val i samband med planering av undervisningsmoment som utgår från läsning av skönlitteratur och fokuserar på mötet mellan text och läsare. Därutöver undersöks och diskuteras hur den skönlitterära läsningen kan kombineras med samtal, skrivande och andra kommunikationsformer i svenska som andraspråk.

Note!

This course is not open as a freestanding course next semester. It can be open for application within a programme or for students in an exchange programme. Please ask your academic advisor for information.

How to apply

Lund University uses a national application system run by University Admissions in Sweden. It is only possible to apply during the application periods: October–January for autumn semester and June–August for spring semester.

Extended application deadline

Sometimes the application deadline is extended for a specific programme or course. In these cases you will find the message "open for late application" by the programme/course information on universityadmissions.se. You apply with the usual application steps. As long as this message is showing, it is possible to apply, but late applications are processed in order of date, so it is still important to apply as soon as possible. Please note that if the programme/course does not have an extended deadline, it is not possible to apply late.

First or Second Admission Round?

All international students are encouraged to apply to the First admission round. This round takes place many months before the start of a semester and gives students the time they need to pay their tuition fees, apply for and receive their residence permit (if required), find housing, etc.

The Second admission round is an alternative for students from EU/EEA countries as they do not need a residence permit. Non-EU/EEA students will most likely not have enough time to obtain their permit before the start of the semester. However, even EU/EEA students are advised to apply during the First admission round, as some programmes can be applied for only in the January round. Also, this provides applicants with an admission decision much earlier, which is helpful in making decisions about their studies.

Tuition Fees

Non-EU/EEA citizens

Citizens of a country outside of the European Union (EU), the European Economic Area (EEA) and Switzerland are required to pay tuition fees. You pay one instalment of the tuition fee in advance of each semester.

EU/EEA citizens and Switzerland

There are no tuition fees for citizens of the European Union (EU), the European Economic Area (EEA) and Switzerland.

Application fee

If you are required to pay tuition fees, you are generally also required to pay an application fee of SEK 900 (approximately EUR 100) when you apply at universityadmissions.se. You pay one application fee regardless of how many programmes or courses you apply to.
