I am researcher at the Centre of Language and Literature (SOL), working primarily in various areas of language acquisition (L1, L2, bilingualism and attrition). My research is concerned with the languages French, Italian, English, German, and Turkish.
I also hold a position as Junior Professor in French and Italian linguistics at the University of Hamburg, where I teach undergraduate and graduate level courses in general linguistics and language acquisition and supervise BA, MA and PhD projects in these fields.
I have directed a research project on incomplete acquisition, language attrition and near-native L2-acquisition (German-French and German-Italian), and I am project investigator in the Research Cluster Linguistic Diversity Managaement in Urban Areas (LiMA) in Hamburg, where I investigate the acquisition of a third language by German-Turkish bilinguals.
I am currently working on definiteness effects, gender, genericity and foreign accent.
