I'm a PhD student in General Linguistics at the Lund University Centre for Languages and Literature since September 2015.
The purpose of my PhD project is to identify the core building blocks of sound symbolism, i.e. the fundamental cross-linguistic associations between sound and meaning. Furthermore, it also aims to explain related questions such as how phonologies and language-specific strategies influence the use of sound-meaning associations and how sound symbolism can act as a bootstrapping mechanism for language.
My research interests include sound symbolism, iconicity, language evolution, semantic and phonological typology and linguistic universals.
