Description

The course examines the system of writing and phonetics of the Arabic language at a basic level, provides the students with a systematic review of key elements of Arabic grammar and morphology, and gives insight into the structure of the Arabic language. A basic review of grammar and the reading of elementary texts from textbooks are included in the course. The course also examines the system of writing and phonetics of the Arabic language at a basic level, and provides the students with a systematic review of its inflection and essential syntax. Written and oral proficiency, as well as writing practice and reading comprehension are considered as important as translation from and to Arabic. The course offers further active training in the use of the Arabic language by using simple conversation and writing exercises, with a focus on the ability to communicate in simple and useful everyday situations. The use of Arabic dictionaries is practiced.
